About This Course
An A Level qualification in Law will prepare you for a wide variety of university degree courses, as it will develop your skills of analysis, comprehension, academic writing and debating. 

Law is a well-respected subject and success in this course is likely to make you attractive to prospective employers and university admissions tutors alike. 

Students should be aware that the A Level is not required in order to study for a university degree in Law.  

Course Content & Assessment
This A level requires students’ to study the following topics:

  • Nature of Law & the English Legal System
  • Criminal Law
  • Law of Tort
  • Human Rights Law

These topics will be assessed across three two hour papers taken at the end of the second year of study.

Law opens up avenues to many exciting career areas including: Solicitor, Barrister, Court Clerk, Customs Official, Legal Executive, Paralegal, Police Officer, Politician, Banker, Local Government Officer & Social Worker.

Grade 6+ English Language
Grade 6+ any Humanities 
Grade 5+ any three other GCSE subjects
