Football Development Program

About This Programme
The main aim of the programme is to develop aspiring footballers technical ability around their post-16 studies. Students who wish to apply can play football at any level with the aim to help students reach the next stage and go on to play senior football.  

What does the program cover? 
The timetable has been designed to include technical sessions to develop skills, game preparation, developing a players match play and finally strength and conditioning to develop a player’s physical ability and strength. 

Throughout year 1 there will also be opportunities for students to complete coaching awards which may lead to future career opportunities. The programme will include guest speakers and coaches providing information on future opportunities, for example apprenticeships or studying in the USA, alongside visits and trips. Lastly, students will be given opportunities to undertake work experience which will enhance their CV when applying for university, apprenticeships or employment. 
The Football Development Programme is suited for those students who wish to study the BTEC Level 3 Sport & Exercise Science qualification however students will also be able to take other qualifications such as A Levels and re-sit GCSE’s in English and Maths if their individual timetable allows. Students will have 4-5 hours of football a week including weekly matches in local and national competitions. Students will also be able to buy training and match-day wear at a discounted cost.
