Mossbourne Sixth Form Thurrock celebrates remarkable results 2025

Year 13 students at Mossbourne Sixth Form Thurrock are celebrating a remarkable set of results. In both A Levels and vocational/applied qualifications, overall results are up considerably on last year with a dramatic increase in progress which now places Mossbourne Sixth Form Thurrock significantly above the national average.

More of our students are celebrating top A-Level grades with 25% of all grades awarded either A* or A, while 60% of grades awarded were A* to B. Both represent significant increases on last year. Furthermore, an impressive 85% of grades awarded were A* to C; this is not only an improvement on last year but is notably above the national average. With results across the applied/vocational subjects also leaping considerably compared to last year and achieving far above national averages, these represent a remarkable set of results.

Special congratulations go to six of our students who reached the pinnacle of academic success by achieving the highest possible grades in each of their subjects. Emma P, Nia-May T and Alfie S all celebrate four A*s while Louis R secured three A*s and Aishat A and one other student achieved triple Distinction*.

Further congratulations go to Emma P who will go on to a place at Oxford University following her outstanding results. Emma is our first successful Oxbridge applicant in more than a decade. This is a wonderful achievement in its own right but even more impressive considering how few students from Thurrock have reached Oxbridge in recent years.

We are equally proud of our 12 students going on to one of the prestigious Russell Group Universities, as well as all those who have secured their places at other universities and a range of exciting apprenticeships in fashion, aerospace and leading companies such as AON and AGEAS.

At Mossbourne Fobbing Academy, we talk about leaving no stone unturned to ensure students get the best results they are capable of so they can then benefit from choice and opportunity in pursuing their next steps. For the Year 13 class of 2025, these results open doors to so many exciting choices and opportunities and we very much look forward to following these and seeing the positive impact they will make in the years ahead.

Sam Cooper, Principal, said: “These results are a fantastic, fully-deserved achievement for students that reflects the tremendous hard work and dedication that both they and their teachers have demonstrated throughout this year. They have shown what is possible when you truly commit to excellence and, with no excuses, demand the very best of yourself. We are incredibly proud of them all.”
